Our assessment of frontend-patterns
frontend-patterns scores 54/100 on our quality scale, 4204th of 4,602 Development & Engineering skills we index.
Its SKILL.md is 3.1 KB long, split into 7 sections and no code examples: a solid amount of guidance for an agent.
It has no GitHub stars yet, so there is no community track record; judge it on its content.
Maintenance, license and trust
- We could not determine when the repository was last updated.
- No license is declared. By default that means all rights are reserved: you can read it, but reusing or redistributing it is not clearly permitted. Ask the author before building on it commercially.
- Its trust signals score 68/100, with 3 cautions from licensing, adoption, age or documentation. These come from repository metadata, not a code audit — read the skill file before letting an agent act on it.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I install frontend-patterns?
- Run
npx skills add yandy-r/claude-plugins --skill frontend-patterns. The install tabs above show the steps for each supported agent. - Which AI agents does frontend-patterns work with?
- It is written for Universal, as a SKILL.md file. Other agents that read the same format can often use it too.
- Is frontend-patterns safe to use?
- It declares no license and scores 68/100 on trust signals. Skills are instructions an agent will follow, so read the file before installing it and do not approve commands you do not understand.

Frontend Development Patterns
Non-obvious React/Next.js rules. Standard React API usage is assumed.
When to Activate
- Building or reviewing React components, hooks, or state
- Fetching data or choosing client versus server state
- Optimizing rendering, bundle size, or long lists
- Building forms, error handling, dialogs, or animation
Critical Rules
- Compose with children and slots; derive values instead of mirroring them in state.
- Server data belongs in TanStack Query, SWR, or framework data APIs, not global stores.
- Effects clean up timers, listeners, subscriptions, and stale async results.
- Keys are stable data IDs, never indexes, for reorderable or removable lists.
- Memoize after profiling, not speculatively.
- Prefer native elements and Radix/Headless UI over custom ARIA widgets.
- Interactive elements need keyboard access, visible focus, and an accessible name.
- Validate on the server even when the client validates.
- Honor
prefers-reduced-motion; animate transform/opacity only.

Quick Routing
| Situation | Choose |
| ----------------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| Slot-based UI | Composition / compound components |
| Shared logic | Custom hook |
| Small shared state | useReducer + Context |
| Larger client state | Zustand or Redux Toolkit |
| Server state | TanStack Query or SWR |
| Lists over a few hundred rows | @tanstack/react-virtual |
| Forms | react-hook-form + Zod |
| Dialog/popover/menu | Radix or Headless UI |
Anti-Patterns
- Syncing state with effects when a derived value works.
- One big Context value rerendering all consumers.
- Fetching in
useEffectwithout ignoring superseded requests. - Fresh object or function literals passed to memoized children.
