Our assessment of no-mame-runtime-capture
no-mame-runtime-capture scores 53/100 on our quality scale, 4121st of 4,529 Development & Engineering skills we index.
Its Cursor Rules is 2.2 KB long, well organised into 9 sections with 1 code example: moderately detailed.
It has no GitHub stars yet, so there is no community track record; judge it on its content.
Maintenance, license and trust
- We could not determine when the repository was last updated.
- No license is declared. By default that means all rights are reserved: you can read it, but reusing or redistributing it is not clearly permitted. Ask the author before building on it commercially.
- Its trust signals score 68/100, with 3 cautions from licensing, adoption, age or documentation. These come from repository metadata, not a code audit — read the skill file before letting an agent act on it.
Safety scan
No issues foundOur scan of the whole file found no instruction hijacking, hidden characters, credential access, data exfiltration or destructive commands.
Automated pattern scan on 2026-10-01. It catches known dangerous patterns, not every risk — read a skill before letting an agent act on it.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I install no-mame-runtime-capture?
- Run
npx skills add xandoxan65/segarally95-recomp. The install tabs above show the steps for each supported agent. - Which AI agents does no-mame-runtime-capture work with?
- It is written for Cursor, as a Cursor Rules file. Other agents that read the same format can often use it too.
- Is no-mame-runtime-capture safe to use?
- Our scan of the whole file found no instruction hijacking, hidden characters, credential access, data exfiltration or destructive commands. It declares no license and scores 68/100 on trust signals. Skills are instructions an agent will follow, so read the file before installing it and do not approve commands you do not understand.
- Is no-mame-runtime-capture still maintained?

No MAME runtime capture
This project cannot use MAME (or any emulator) runtime memory dumps, scripted captures, or live hardware state as validation or discovery input. Do not propose, implement, or block on them.
Forbidden
- Running or extending MAME Lua capture scripts to read workram, palram, colorxlat, lumaram, or compiled thunks at course load
- Treating MAME captures, “golden dumps”, or
out/palette/*.binfrom emulator sessions as ground truth - Suggesting “capture
0x005FBF10at desert load”, “workram snapshot”, or “MAME golden match” as a next step or acceptance criterion - Adding CI, tests, or docs that require emulator execution to pass
- Using
decomp/notes/palette_test_vectors.jsonreplay_slots_*(Python replay snapshots) as independent hardware oracles — they are regression snapshots only
Required instead
Derive behavior and validate from static sources:
- i960 maincpu disassembly (
decomp/disasm/maincpu/,python -m tools.i960_decode) - ROM / main_data blobs and typed tables (CGM blocks, DEF colorxlat @
0x33454, format jump table @0x05CFD0) - Disasm-backed simulators that replay format semantics directly (
tools/model2_cgm_staging.py,tools/model2_cgm_1111.py) — document RE gaps when thunks @0x005C9118are not executed - Tier-B test vectors built from ROM:
(slot, bin_pos, raw_u16, disasm-proven mask) → color15— not from emulator or from replay output alone - Visual / structural checks on exported assets (atlas verify, placement-stream colorbase demand,
palette_restatic replay) — wrong hues implicate decode logic, not missing MAME dumps
When a value exists only in runtime workram
State the gap explicitly and proceed with disasm trace, format-table semantics, or ROM-side inference. Do not list emulator capture as the resolution path.
# BAD — blocked on hardware
# "Next: capture workram at desert CGM load to read 0x005FBF10 row 10"
# GOOD — static RE continuation
# "Template @ 0x005FBF10 is zero in static ROM; infer D stub from 0x05D860 emit +
# 0x029C10 upload paths; compare decode modes via palette_d_path_compare"
