Introduction

This Django web application is designed to help you effectively track and manage your expenses. It provides features for creating and managing categories, budgets, and individual expenses.

Features

• Categories:
  • Create, edit, and delete categories to organize your expenses.
  • View a list of all categories.
• Budgets:
  • Set budgets for specific categories to track spending limits.
  • View budget details and track progress towards goals.
• Expenses:
  • Record expenses, including the amount, date, category, and description.
  • View a list of all expenses, filtered by category or date range.
  • Edit or delete existing expenses.

Usage

1. Installation:

   # Clone the repository
   git clone https://github.com/phantom-kali/ExpenseTracker.git
   
   # Navigate to the project directory
   cd ExpenseTracker
   
   # Create a virtual environment
   python -m venv venv
   
   # Activate the virtual environment
   # For Windows:
   venv\Scripts\activate
   # For Linux/macOS:
   source venv/bin/activate
   
   # Install dependencies
   pip install -r requirements.txt
   

2. Database Setup:

   # Create a database according to your Django settings
   
   # Run migrations
   python manage.py migrate
   

3. Run the Server:

   # Start the development server
   python manage.py runserver
   

4. Access the Application:

   • Open a web browser and navigate to:
     http://127.0.0.1:8000/
