RxLiveData

RxLiveData is a library of LiveData Kotlin extensions that provides some of the famous Rx (Reactive Extensions) operators like filter, skip, take, withLatestFrom, etc. on top of LiveData.

Download

1. Add jitpack maven url to your root build.gradle at the end of repositories:

allprojects {
  repositories {
    ...
    maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
  }
}

2. Add the dependency to your app build.gradle:

dependencies {
  compile 'com.github.oronbz:rxlivedata:0.0.4'
}

Usage

Example of filterNull, filter, distinctUntilChanged, switchMap and map

val query = MutableLiveData<String?>()

searchResults = query
        .filterNull()
        .filter { it.isNotBlank() }
        .distinctUntilChanged()
        .switchMap {
          gitHubRepository.searchUsers(it)
        }.filterNull()
        .map {
          it.users.map {
            SearchItemViewModel(it.username, it.avatarUrl)
          }
        }
