README

This is the CertiKOS project.

============================================================================== Check the proof:

  1. System requiremenets: Coq 8.4pl4

  2. Configure CompCertX:

    ./configure [options] target

    For exmaple, to configure the CompCertX to x86 32 bit linux, one can run:

    ./configure ia32-linux

    To get more helps about configuration, simply type:

    ./configure

  3. Check the proofs:

    make

    Since the compilation is very time consuming (around a few hours), one can check the proofs with multi-thread support:

    make -j12

    It will check the proofs with 12 threads.

============================================================================== The directory structure:

  1. /mcertikos/security: The security related proofs for mCertiKOS

  2. /mcertikos/policy: The security policy examples used in the paper

  3. /mcertikos/*: Other mCeritkos related proofs.

  4. /compcert:

    The Compcert certified compiler, modified for our purposes.

  5. /compcertx:

    CompcertX per-function compiler (eventually, per-module compiler), built on top of our modified Compcert.

  6. /liblayers:

    Generic Coq library for layered verification. This include the abstract framework for layers and modules. Most of it is only loosely coupled with Compcert, however there are specific instantiations of the layer logic which use the semantics of Clight and Asm, as defined in Compcert. Using those, we can recast the correctness theorem of CompcertX in terms of the abstract framework.
