The UI is TV oriented, Android UI is secondary.
For android (mobile) devices, would recommend Droidify or Fdroid Basic (for security and better UI).
Installation
Option 1: Direct APK download from github using Downloader app by AFTV, or any other web broswer.
Option 2: Share through localsend (or send files to tv)
The app is (was available, got suspended now for "Violation of Device and Network Abuse policy", apps that cause users to download or install applications from unknown sources outside of Google Play are prohibited, Apparently alt app stores are allowed from 2026? Will try appealing again later if possible) also available on Google Play Store, but the install permission cannot be provided so you will have to click the download notification to download using download manager (or use adb/root).
According to Google: The REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES permission allows an application to request the installation of app packages. To use this permission, your app’s core functionality must include: Sending or receiving app packages, AND Enabling user-initiated installation of app packages.
Since i cannot use the REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES permission even though my app clearly follows the second category (and stores are allowed due to the 2024 lawsuit), I won't be updating the gplay build, since it is such a big QOL degrade and would prefer to keep the perm for the rest of the app's updates.
