Installation
AppGroup is available in four variants:
🔹 Installer Versions
- Setup – Standard installer (requires .NET 8 Runtime installed on your system).
- Setup (Bundled) – Comes with the required .NET 8 Runtime already included. Best if you don’t want to install .NET separately.
🔹 Portable Versions
- Portable – No installation needed (requires .NET 8 Runtime installed on your system).
- Portable (Bundled) – Self-contained portable version with .NET 8 Runtime included. Just extract and run.
How to Install
- Download the latest release.
- Choose your preferred variant:
- Setup → Run the
.exeinstaller. - Portable → Extract the
.zipfile and run AppGroup.exe.
- Setup → Run the
Recommendation: If you’re not sure which one to pick, download the Setup (Bundled) version for the easiest experience.

Create a Group
- Click “+” to create a group
- Set a Group Name

Add Apps
- Click “+” or drag & drop apps into the group
- For UWP apps Shortcuts, see Create UWP Shortcuts

Customize Your Group
- Enable Show Header if needed
- Adjust grid columns for the perfect layout
- Set an icon style
- Regular - Choose an icon from a directory
- Grid - Create grid icon from selected applications

Pin a Group to the Taskbar
- Drag the group directly to the taskbar
OR
- Open Groups Folder and find the group folder
- Inside, you'll find a shortcut file
- Right-click → Pin to Taskbar
OR
- Click the three-dot menu (···) in the main window
- Select Open File Location
- This opens the folder containing the shortcut
- Right-click → Pin to Taskbar
Create UWP Shortcuts

Press
Win + R -
Type
shell:AppsFolder→ Enter- File Explorer opens with all installed apps (Win32 + UWP).

Find the UWP app (e.g., Calculator, Settings).

Right-click the app → Create shortcut
- If Windows asks, choose Yes (shortcut will be placed on Desktop).
