Maintenance, license and trust

  • The repository was last updated about 4 months ago. That is recent enough to be usable, but agent tooling moves fast, so check the instructions against your agent's current version.
  • Our last check on 2026-10-19 found the source still online.
  • It is released under the MIT license, a permissive license that allows use, modification and commercial use with attribution.
  • Its trust signals score 90/100, with 1 caution from licensing, adoption, age or documentation. These come from repository metadata, not a code audit — read the skill file before letting an agent act on it.

Safety scan

No issues found

Our scan of the whole file found no instruction hijacking, hidden characters, credential access, data exfiltration or destructive commands. An AI review of the same text found nothing harmful.

🔧 Configuration

Enable Accessibility Permissions

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility
  2. Click the + button
  3. Add these applications:
    • Google Chrome (or your browser)
    • Terminal
    • Messages
    • Mail
    • Your AI agent application (if applicable)

Grant Automation Permissions

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation
  2. Enable permissions for:
    • System Events
    • Finder
    • Messages
    • Mail

🛡️ Security Considerations

  • AppleScript can control your entire Mac — only run scripts from trusted sources
  • Review scripts before execution, especially those that:
    • Delete or move files
    • Send messages or emails
    • Execute terminal commands
    • Access sensitive data
  • Scripts run locally — no data is sent to external servers unless explicitly coded

🤝 Integration with AI Agents

This skill follows the Agent Skills specification. Once installed (see Installation above), any compliant agent can execute AppleScript automation directly.

Usage in Prompts

Use the AppleScript skill to open Chrome and navigate to GitHub.
Send iMessage to John saying "Meeting at 3pm".
Set volume to 50%.

Custom Tool Integration

For custom agent frameworks, implement AppleScript execution as a tool:

def execute_applescript_file(path):
    result = subprocess.run(['osascript', path], capture_output=True, text=True)
    return {'output': result.stdout, 'error': result.stderr}
