Installation

  1. Clone the repository
  2. Install dependencies:

npm install

npm install
  1. Set up environment variables:

    • Create a .env file in the backend directory
    • Add the following variables:
    PORT=5001
    MONGODB_URI=mongodb://localhost:27017/hospital_discharge_system
    
  2. Start the application:

# Start MongoDB
mongod --dbpath ~/data/db

# Start the backend
cd backend
npm start

# Start the frontend
cd ../frontend
npm run dev
  1. Access the application:
    • Frontend: http://localhost:3001
    • Backend API: http://localhost:5001

Login Credentials

For demo purposes, use these credentials:

  • Doctor: Username: doctor, Password: password
  • Patient: Username: patient, Password: password
