skillgrid-gitnexus scores 57/100 on our quality scale, 1088th of 1,114 Security skills we index.
Its Cursor Rules is 3.2 KB long, split into 6 sections and no code examples: a solid amount of guidance for an agent.
It has no GitHub stars yet, so there is no community track record; judge it on its content.
Maintenance, license and trust
- We could not determine when the repository was last updated.
- Our last check on 2026-09-27 found the source still online.
- No license is declared. By default that means all rights are reserved: you can read it, but reusing or redistributing it is not clearly permitted. Ask the author before building on it commercially.
- Its trust signals score 68/100, with 3 cautions from licensing, adoption, age or documentation. These come from repository metadata, not a code audit — read the skill file before letting an agent act on it.
Safety scan
No issues foundOur scan of the whole file found no instruction hijacking, hidden characters, credential access, data exfiltration or destructive commands. An AI review of the same text found nothing harmful.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I install skillgrid-gitnexus?
- Run
npx skills add devopstales/skillgrid. The install tabs above show the steps for each supported agent. - Which AI agents does skillgrid-gitnexus work with?
- It is written for Cursor, as a Cursor Rules file. Other agents that read the same format can often use it too.
- Is skillgrid-gitnexus safe to use?
- Our scan of the whole file found no instruction hijacking, hidden characters, credential access, data exfiltration or destructive commands. An AI review of the same text found nothing harmful. It declares no license and scores 68/100 on trust signals. Skills are instructions an agent will follow, so read the file before installing it and do not approve commands you do not understand.

Skillgrid + GitNexus — exploration first
For any question about how the codebase works — how a feature is implemented, where something is stored, how data flows, what calls what — use GitNexus MCP before Grep, Glob, or Shell file walks. Open source files to confirm details after the graph points you there. Fall back to filesystem search only when GitNexus returns no useful results or is unavailable.
Repo argument: use repo: "aiskillgrid" on gitnexus_query, gitnexus_context, gitnexus_impact, and gitnexus_detect_changes (unless npx -y gitnexus@1.3.11 status / MCP shows a different registered id — then use that consistently).
CLI: refresh a stale index with npx -y gitnexus@1.3.11 analyze from the repo root (see .agents/workflows/gitnexus.md).
Priority: GitNexus → .skillgrid/project/ → grep/glob/shell
- GitNexus — execution flows, clusters, symbol context, impact.
.skillgrid/project/(STRUCTURE.md,ARCHITECTURE.md,PROJECT.md) — team-written summaries; skim first for orientation, then confirm in the graph.- Grep / glob / shell — exact symbols, tests, or when GitNexus is empty or down.
Skillgrid workflows (mandatory)
Applies to every Skillgrid phase and Task / subagent that inspects application code — including /skillgrid-brainstorm, /skillgrid-design, /skillgrid-plan, /skillgrid-explore, /skillgrid-breakdown, /skillgrid-apply, /skillgrid-validate, /skillgrid-finish, /skillgrid-session, checkpoints, parallel research repo lanes, codebase mapping, code review / security / test personas, and any flow that answers “what calls this?” or “what breaks if…?”.
- Before relying on grep/glob/shell for import trees, callers, callees, execution flows, or blast radius: use
gitnexus_query,gitnexus_context, and/orgitnexus_impactwithrepo: "aiskillgrid"(or your registered id). gitnexus_detect_changes: use the samerepo(git-aware scope checks).
General codebase questions
gitnexus_query({query: "<concept>", repo: "aiskillgrid"})gitnexus_context({name: "<symbol>", repo: "aiskillgrid"})for symbols the query surfaces- Read source files only to verify implementation details
- Fall back to Grep/Glob/Shell only if GitNexus returns 0 relevant processes or tools error out
Fallback triggers
Use grep/glob/shell (and skillgrid-codebase-map / rg as documented) when:
gitnexus_queryreturns no relevant processesgitnexus_impactreturns 0 upstream — retry once (wrong symbol name or repo id), then fall back if still empty- GitNexus warns the index is stale — run
npx -y gitnexus@1.3.11 analyze, then retry - MCP server is unavailable — note it and proceed with search; restore GitNexus when possible
