Our assessment of lodgify-mcp
lodgify-mcp scores 70/100 on our quality scale, 3832nd of 4,658 Development & Engineering skills we index.
Its MCP Server is 8.9 KB long, well organised into 25 sections with 6 code examples: a thorough specification that gives an agent plenty to work with.
It has 3 GitHub stars, so there is little community track record yet; judge it on its content.
Maintenance, license and trust
- The repository was last updated about 6 months ago. That is recent enough to be usable, but agent tooling moves fast, so check the instructions against your agent's current version.
- It is released under the MIT license, a permissive license that allows use, modification and commercial use with attribution.
- Its trust signals score 85/100, with 2 cautions from licensing, adoption, age or documentation. These come from repository metadata, not a code audit — read the skill file before letting an agent act on it.

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects AI assistants like Claude to the Lodgify property management API. Get instant access to your properties, bookings, availability, and rates through natural language.
Quick Start
Installation with Bunx (Recommended)
The fastest way to get started - no local installation required:
{
"mcpServers": {
"lodgify": {
"command": "bunx",
"args": ["-y", "@mikerob/lodgify-mcp"],
"env": {
"LODGIFY_API_KEY": "your_lodgify_api_key_here"
}
}
}
}
Alternative with NPX
{
"mcpServers": {
"lodgify": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@mikerob/lodgify-mcp"],
"env": {
"LODGIFY_API_KEY": "your_lodgify_api_key_here"
}
}
}
}
Environment Configuration
Required environment variable:
LODGIFY_API_KEY="your_lodgify_api_key_here"
Optional settings:
LODGIFY_READ_ONLY="1" # Prevent write operations (recommended for testing)
LOG_LEVEL="info" # Options: error | warn | info | debug
DEBUG_HTTP="0" # Set to "1" for verbose HTTP debugging
MCP_TOKEN="your_secret_token" # Required for HTTP mode
PORT="3000" # Optional HTTP port (default 3000)
HTTP Server (Streamable HTTP)
To expose the server over HTTP instead of stdio:
npm run start:http
This launches an Express server using the Streamable HTTP transport (modern replacement for SSE).
- Endpoint:
POST /mcp - Auth: send
Authorization: Bearer <MCP_TOKEN>header - Configure port with the
PORTenvironment variable (defaults to3000).
Clients such as Claude Desktop or the Anthropic Messages API can connect using this endpoint.
Docker
Build and run the HTTP server in a container:
npm run docker:http:build
docker run --rm \
-p 3000:3000 \
-e MCP_TOKEN=your_token \
-e LODGIFY_API_KEY=your_lodgify_api_key_here \
lodgify-mcp:http
API Key Rotation
To rotate your LODGIFY_API_KEY safely:
- Create a new API key in your Lodgify account settings
- Deploy the new key as
LODGIFY_API_KEY(keep the old key valid temporarily) - Verify server health and tool calls are working correctly
- Revoke the old key in Lodgify
Tip: For zero-downtime rotation, use a two-step rollout (staging → production) and monitor error rates during the transition.

Features
- 🚀 Zero Installation: Run directly with
bunx- no local setup required - 🔧 20+ API Tools: Complete property management, bookings, and availability
- 🛡️ Read-Only Mode: Safe testing with write operation protection
- 📝 Type-Safe: Full TypeScript with input validation
- 🔄 Smart Retries: Automatic rate limit handling with exponential backoff
- 📊 Comprehensive: Properties, bookings, availability, rates, quotes, and more
- 📅 Intelligent Date Validation: Feedback-based system that helps LLMs self-correct date issues
Intelligent Date Validation
The MCP server includes sophisticated date validation with feedback-based correction to handle LLM date cutoff issues:
How It Works
- Issue Detection: Identifies when LLMs provide outdated dates (e.g., 2024 when current year is 2025)
- Structured Feedback: Provides detailed validation feedback instead of silent corrections
- Context-Aware Guidance: Different validation rules based on tool context:
- Availability searches: Warns about past dates, suggests current date
- Booking creation: Validates future dates with detailed suggestions
- Rate queries: Allows past/future dates with appropriate context
- Self-Correction Support: Returns actionable suggestions for LLMs to fix issues
Example Scenarios
-
LLM provides outdated year:
- Input:
"2024-09-15"(when current year is 2025) - Feedback:
{ "message": "The date '2024-09-15' appears to be from a previous year (2024). Current year is 2025.", "suggestions": ["If you meant this year, use: 2025-09-15", "Current date: 2025-08-31"], "severity": "warning" }
- Input:
-
Past date for availability search:
- Input: Check availability from
"2025-08-01"(if today is 2025-08-31) - Feedback:
{ "message": "The date '2025-08-01' is 30 days in the past. Availability operations typically require future dates.", "suggestions": ["Did you mean a future date?", "Today's date: 2025-08-31"], "severity": "warning" }
- Input: Check availability from
-
Invalid date range:
- Input: Check-in
"2025-09-20", Check-out"2025-09-15" - Error:
{ "message": "Invalid date range: end date '2025-09-15' is before start date '2025-09-20'.", "suggestions": ["Ensure the end date is after the start date", "Check if the dates were entered in the correct order"], "severity": "error" }
- Input: Check-in
Validation Modes
Date validation uses different approaches per tool type:
- HARD: Rejects invalid dates with clear error feedback
- SOFT: Warns about issues but allows processing with feedback messages
- Context-Aware: Adapts validation rules based on business logic and tool requirements
Feedback Structure
All validation feedback includes:
- Message: Human-readable description of the issue
- Severity:
error,warning, orinfo - Suggestions: Actionable steps to resolve the issue
- Current Date: System date for context
- Original Input: Exact input provided for traceability

Performance Considerations
Module Size and Bundling
This package uses modular architecture with separate modules for different API endpoints and tool categories. While this improves maintainability and code organization:
- Bundle Size: The modular structure may result in larger bundle sizes compared to a monolithic approach
- Tree Shaking: When using bundlers like Webpack or Rollup, ensure tree shaking is enabled to eliminate unused modules
- Production Optimization: Consider using dynamic imports for tools that are not frequently used
- Dependency Management: We use minimal external dependencies to keep the package lean (only essential deps: @modelcontextprotocol/sdk, zod, pino, dotenv)
Optimization Tips
- For MCP Server Usage: The full package is loaded at runtime, which is acceptable for server-side usage
- For Library Usage: If importing specific modules, use direct imports to avoid loading unnecessary code:
// Good - imports only what's needed import { BookingsClient } from '@mikerob/lodgify-mcp/dist/api/v2/bookings/client.js' // Avoid - may import entire orchestrator import { LodgifyOrchestrator } from '@mikerob/lodgify-mcp'
