AppClipped

AppClipped is a macOS application designed to improve the generation and saving of App Clip Codes. This tool provides a clean and simple interface for working with Apple's App Clip Codes.

This app will soon be released as a free-to-download tool to assist projects using App Clip Codes.

Features

• App Clip Code Generation - Create App Clip Codes with customizable styles and settings.
• Customizable Colors & Styles - Select from pre-defined styles or create your own with custom foreground and background colors.
• Tool Locator - Ensures the necessary tools for generating App Clip Codes are available.
• Command Execution - Handles underlying processes to generate and export App Clip Codes efficiently.
• Easy Export - Save generated App Clip Codes in various formats for further use.

Installation

Once the app is released, you will be able to download it. However, for now, the only way to install the app is via this code repository.

To install the repo:

1. Clone the repository.
2. Open AppClipped.xcodeproj in Xcode.
3. Build and run the project.

Requirements

• Xcode 15.0+
• macOS Sequoia+

Usage

1. Enter the URL - Input the URL you want to encode in your App Clip Code.
2. Choose a Style - Select a predefined style or customize colors manually.
3. Configure Additional Settings - Set the App Clip mode and logo preferences.
4. Generate the Code - Click the 'Generate' button to create your App Clip Code.
5. Save & Export - Download and use your generated App Clip Code.

Contributing

Since this is an open-source project, contributions are welcomed and encouraged! Feel free to submit issues or open pull requests to improve the app.

Contributions may include adding new features, optimizing existing functionality, or improving the user experience.

• Find an issue to work on, or request a new feature
• Fork this repo
• Clone the repo to your machine
• Add your changes
• Raise a PR

Limitations

The main limitation of this project is that users must have Apple's AppClipCodeGenerator tool downloaded and installed, as this app is a wrapper for that tool.

The process of locating this tool on the user's system is something we aim to improve over time.
